Appointment availability updates throughout the day. If a day or time you need is not showing as available, please contact (staff@skttherapy.com) for assistance in scheduling an appointment. Hello, I'm Shannon. In addition to being a Mental Health Provider, I am also a Nationally Certified Professional Mediator (NCPM). I have over 10 years of experience working with children, adolescents, teens, individuals, couples, and families from culturally diverse populations on a wide range of issues and concerns. My approach is collaborative. I believe that by working together, a positive outcome is achievable. I provide a warm, open, non-judgmental environment where one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are explored and discussed in an objective, respectful, empathetic manner. I am licensed in California, Colorado, and Texas. At this time, I only provide services virtually through a secure telehealth system. Four things I want you to know before you begin therapy with me: 1. I want treatment to work just as much as you do. 2. I am not judging you, and need to hear all of your truth(s) in order to best support you. You can't heal what you won't reveal. 3. I will not fight you for your healing. What that means is: I will not work harder than you do. However, I will be right there beside you as we navigate your Mental Health journey together. 4. If you don't connect with me, that's okay. Don't be afraid to try someone new, and keep trying until you find the right fit. I look forward to working with you!

Hi, thank you for considering me as part of your support team. My name is Yolanda and I want to share with you a little about how you and I would work together. You may be experiencing a ton of different emotions, or maybe there is one specific feeling you can't seem to shake. For example, are tehre times where you find yourself overthinking situations or experiencing thoughts going so fast it's hard to keep up with them? What about experiencing extreme sadness with a lack of motivation to do anything, even get out of bed? Has there been a time when you felt like crying, but you couldn't figure out why? These feelings are overwhelming and are just a few things we can address during your sessions. I offer support and provide tips and tricks to get through the day while working together to figure out why this is happening.

As a child I was always very sensitive and curious about the world that surrounded me. It came natural to help people and I knew that I wanted to give back to the world at large. Just like you I suffered from some childhood wounds. My parents did the best they could with the tools they had. But due to their struggles I became a very codependent child wanting to save and fix my parents to simply gain the love I desired. Later on I would be able to understand this cycle and name some of the patterns I lived out. People pleasing, losing myself in toxic relationships and not fully loving that little girl inside of me. Once I became a LMFT and gained the knowledge and tools necessary I was not only able to break my own patterns, I was also able to help others find joy and deep meaning in their lives. Ultimately I specialize in helping people understand their patterns and be more effective communicators in their world. My role has been a guide and coach for my clients, providing innovative approaches based on Gestalt Method, Ancient Forgiveness Techniques, Psychodynamic Therapy, NLP and Hypnosis. I use these techniques to help my clients break patterns, many of which are fear based as a result of early childhood trauma that causes emotional issues in the present. This is deep and powerful work, and is necessary to enable a positive path to desired future. I look forward to working with you and guiding you on the path to healing and freedom.

Hello, my name is LaShonda. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist from a very small town in Georgia. However,I have lived in California since 2004. Prior to moving here I have lived in Washington state for 4 years. I joined the military at the dapper age of 18 and served my country for 13 years. I received a bachelor's in Legal Studies prior to leaving the military in 2012. After careful deliberation I decided that I no longer wanted to pursue a career in law and that I was more fascinated with human behavior. I then started a dual master's program in Counseling Psychology and Marriage and Family Therapy in San Diego, California. I received my masters in 2015 and decided to take a step further and obtain my PhD in marriage and family therapy, with an emphasis on military families. I am currently a PhD candidate a Northcentral university where I am within the process of completing research on military relationships. I am a certified clinical trauma professional, trained in Sex-trafficking, Post traumatic stress, CBT, DBT as well as clinical family trauma.

I am a licensed clinical social worker in the state of California and I have been practicing since 2001. I graduated from the School of Social Work at Columbia University in the City of New York and have experience working with children and families, adolescents, transitional youth, young adults, elder adults, men, women, LGBTQ+, and the justice-involved. In this day and age, so many of us are bombarded with the day-to-day and simply living blindly, meaninglessly. So many tend to suppress and ignore just to survive. If you are experiencing a crossroads presently and wish to get out of being stuck, if you want to improve your relationships with your loved ones, or if you just want to be able to process safely and receive genuine and practical feedback, you may want to consider scheduling a therapy session with me.
