My mission is this: To give people hope and coping skills in challenging times and times of transition. I am trained in several treatment modalities, but Grief Counseling, Solution Focused Therapy, and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy are my specialties. I tailor my therapy to meet the individual needs of each of my clients. I have experience counseling all ages- and I welcome clients from six years to seniors! I have a passion for working with educators because I have walked in the shoes of a teacher, school counselor and school administrator and I understand the current challenges are they facing. I can also help you process grief and/or trauma, and support you in making relationship or career changes or create long term career goals. My mission is to always give you hope, and help you plan and move into a better life path than where you were when I met you on your journey. I look forward to working with you and building a trusting relationship that will lead you to having hope, feeling peace and competence. I love to help my clients be their authentic self, discover their strengths and gifts, reach goals, achieve dreams, and be their best self in all relationships.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

After our first session, we will have formed a trusting relationship and you will have been given some ideas for new coping skills to help you in your current situation. You will have felt understood because you sensed my empathy, which is one of my true strengths. We will have begun to focus on the goals of what you want to accomplish during therapy, and you will likely be assigned homework to think about what your priorities are at this time in your life. I want to ensure that my clients have some sense of hope, no matter what their current situation is.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My empathy and ability to form trusting relationships quickly are my biggest strengths, which help me excel in solution-focused and grief counseling. I enjoy working with a wide range of ages, and also working with LGBTQ adolescents and adults.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

This is my most commonly used treatment modality, because I believe our thoughts can make or break us! One of the easiest ways to make positive changes and find hope is to examine your thoughts and limiting beliefs and start positive internal conversations.

Grief Therapy

My internship and first experiences as a therapist were using grief therapy. Most adults have unresolved grief they may not even be aware of; such as grieving the loss of a pet when you were told to "suck it up". When feelings in childhood were not expressed they are repressed, which means they are still with you. I can help you let go of feelings from long ago that you don't need to be carrying as baggage anymore!
