Most of my experience has been with at-risk youth and victims of domestic violence, However, I have treated many clients with issues related to depression and anxiety and I strongly believe that most of these symptoms arise as a result of unresolved trauma. I have a Master's in Clinical Social Work from New York University's Silver School of Social Work. California Board of Behavioral Sciences Licensed Clinical Social Worker #83501. I also have a certification from the International Association of Trauma Professionals (IATP) as a Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP).
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
As your therapist, I can help you learn about the relationship between your thoughts, moods, physical symptoms, and behaviors. Along the way, we can collaborate to develop skills to help you manage stress and any difficult emotions you may be experiencing. My goal is to help you find tools to get through life's challenging moments feeling empowered. My therapy sessions are designed to help you interpret personal issues and provide you with effective skills for seeing the glass half full instead of half empty.
What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?
I mainly utilize a trauma-informed approach with clients. However, I don't subscribe to any single theoretical approach, I employ Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness and Psychodynamic techniques while allowing you to share your experiences.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
I believe that my biggest strength lies in my ability to empathize and support clients. If you are struggling (with things like stress, anxiety, depression, relationship conflict, parenting issues, low self-esteem, guilt, shame) and doing it alone is not going well, I may be able to help.
