I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based in Florida. During the past 10 years in the field of mental health counseling, I have worked with children, adults and families in a multitude of settings that include community-based counseling, residential treatment centers, therapeutic communities within a prison setting, behavioral health hospitals, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, hospice, substance abuse groups, and within the field of criminal justice. Most of all, I strive to create an open and collaborative environment as a means to empower my clients to have a safe and non-judgmental space where they can explore their thoughts and feelings while preserving their dignity.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
I know it took a lot of strength to make that first therapy appointment so now let's look on what to expect going forward. Within the first session, I would introduce myself along with my experience as a therapist. I would explain that the therapy process is the client’s and reassure that they will have a safe and non-judgmental space to grow. Upon completion of the session, the client can take time to consider attending future sessions or schedule a follow up session.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
My strengths are that I am very compassionate, empathetic, patient, non-judgmental and professional. I strive to look at the “whole picture” of what the client brings to therapy such as their strengths and obstacles. I also tend to challenge clients in therapy so they can see their potential.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have utilized CBT with my clients for the past 10 years by assisting them to understand the links between their thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and physical sensations. Throughout the therapy process, I have assisted clients on implementing CBT techniques such as goal setting, challenge irrational/faulty thoughts, positive self-talk, role playing, relaxation techniques and more.
On average, UnitedHealthcare StudentResources clients pay $0-$38
