As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida, I have dedicated the last decade to serving children, adults, and families across various settings. My experience spans community-based counseling, residential treatment, prison therapeutic communities, behavioral health hospitals, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, hospice care, substance abuse groups, and the criminal justice system. Above all, my goal is to foster an open and collaborative environment that empowers clients, providing a safe and non-judgmental space for them to explore their thoughts and feelings, all while upholding their dignity.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Making that first therapy appointment requires considerable courage, so it's important to know what to expect next. In the initial session, I will introduce myself and share my background as a therapist. I'll clarify that the therapy journey belongs to the client and ensure them that they will have a secure and non-judgmental environment to progress. After the session concludes, the client may reflect on whether to continue with further sessions or arrange a subsequent appointment.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My strengths include being compassionate, empathetic, patient, non-judgmental, and professional. I aim to consider the "whole picture" of what clients present in therapy, including their strengths and challenges. Additionally, I often encourage clients to challenge themselves in therapy to realize their potential.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

For the past decade, I have employed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with my clients, helping them to recognize the connections between their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and physical sensations. During the course of therapy, I have guided clients in applying CBT strategies including setting goals, challenging irrational or faulty thoughts, engaging in positive self-talk, role-playing, practicing relaxation techniques, and more.
