If you are overwhelmed, lost and feeling down, I would like to talk to you about how therapy can benefit you. I use a person-centered, empowerment-focused approach. I believe everyone has strengths and potential to emerge on the other side, given unconditional positive regard. I strive to create a radically safe space in which clients feel seen, heard and validated. My goal to collaborate with you to explore what safe space looks like or means to you in today's world. I meet where the client is, and together we appreciate their needs and know that their needs and feelings do matter. I do require weekly appointment for new clients for 1-2 months depending on the severity of presenting problems. It is difficult to build therapeutic rapport, complete assessments without meeting weekly at least for a month. We may discuss biweekly sessions, and new clients would benefit most from weekly, long-term therapy services in my practice. I specialize in complex PTSD, trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship issues and women's issues. I practice culturally responsive treatment, and intersectionality guides my practice. I am certified in DBT and tailor treatment based on the client's unique presenting concerns and needs, drawing from CBT, DBT, coaching techniques, Solution Focused Approach, Motivational Interviewing, Internal Family System and body-based approach. I am currently available on the Zoom Pro platform only. I do not work with court-mandated cases, or custody cases involving law. I came to Risa as a neurodivergent patient who was struggling with undiagnosed anxiety and depression. These conditions were unidentified and unmanaged for most of my adult life, and they started to negatively impact my overall health, personal life, career, and quality of life. Risa is one of the most compassionate, detail-oriented, and supportive medical professionals I have ever met. Whenever I am mentally or emotionally struggling, Risa is always there to help me work through the tough times with kind and positive regard. She connects with her clients uniquely and specially. She displays a natural abiity to make patients feel comfortable and safe. -client C

Hello and congratulations on taking your first step towards bettering your mental health. The secret of getting ahead is getting started. I am here to be your fellow traveler as you begin your personal growth journey. My name is Laura Goncalves and I am a the founder of Day One Counseling as well as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have been providing psychotherapy services to individuals and families in the Pennsylvania area since 2018. According to the National Association of Mental Illness, 1.8 million adults in Pennsylvania have a mental health condition. Pennsylvanians struggle to get the support they need. 1.7 million people in Pennsylvania live in a community that does not have enough mental health professionals. My mission is to make therapy effective, accessible, and affordable to bridge this gap. I help teens adults and middle age adults struggling with anxiety, depression, or self-esteem issues become the best versions of themselves. Now more than ever, people are feeling anxious, overwhelmed and uncertain about how they are supposed to manage their relationships, careers and their lives. Pushing away your needs and not taking time for yourself can lead to long-term issues for your mind and body. I believe it shouldn’t be so hard to live a better life.

I work with individuals over 13, but specialize in helping teenagers, young adults, athletes, women and those who have experienced trauma. I use a holistic approach to treat mental, physical and spiritual health, believing that all must function well to achieve happiness. I encourage clients to make positive changes, avoid destructive behaviors, and make their own decisions. Improving self-confidence and fostering meaningful connections are essential for everyone. For those dealing with trauma, I use a technique called Brainspotting to identify, process, and release physical and emotional distress associated with traumatic experiences. The objective is to access deeper emotional parts of the brain by bypassing conscious thinking and heal underlying trauma that contributes to conditions like anxiety and depression. My passion also lies in sports where I use over 20 years of coaching experience to enhance mental performance in athletes. For athletes, attitude, emotions, and perspective are just as crucial as physical training. My goal is to help athletes improve their confidence, focus, and mental resilience, so they can overcome perfectionism and performance anxiety.

My name is Susan. I have been practicing, in Pennsylvania for 25 years. I have my LCSW. The bulk of my career was spent in an atypical long term care facility. Clients ranged from 18 to 100 with a myriad of mental health challenges. In this setting, I provided one to one therapy and facilitated groups. Group work consisted of anger management, chronic illness and improving interpersonal skills. Going into private practice, my role in the partnership is the provision of a judgment free environment where we can strategize, addressing and overcoming the many challenges we all face. I also address the loss of our 4 legged kids Underserved, as I know all to well the hole they leave in our hearts and everyday life.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and where ever you are in your life right now, I believe there is always time to reflect on and improve your overall well-being if needed. When do you set aside time for yourself? Let's talk about that. How often do you hesitate or ruminate over a mistake you made yesterday, or even last year? It's common to get stuck on our paths and focus on mistakes - talk to me and we can begin drawing a map for better understanding your emotions, thoughts and how they dictate your everyday. What is keeping you from living the type of life that you want for yourself and how do those obstacles dictate your everyday choices? These are only one of the questions I can help you answer for yourself in our sessions that focus on managing intrusive thoughts, building better relationships and accepting your whole being as worthy of love. I work with cerebrally inclined adults and teens, giving attention to their needs when “being in my head,” and perfectionism distracts from attainable goals. With my experience in using evidence-based practices and building a comfortable space for you, my philosophical background will guide you through anxiety, depression, obsessive thoughts and existential dread. We will use mindfulness exercises, meditation and structured cognitive-behavioral prompts as well. Think of our time together as a study group with your holistic well being as the main subject and the quiz as your everyday life. Ultimately, I offer the chance for us to go on that journey of self-discovery as a team - we can find the answers that you are looking for. Let’s do it!

I see the possibility within ourselves, helping clients unlock their limitless potential. Creating a working relationship through unconditional positive regard, compassionate listening, and mutual trust creates a safe environment, the first step towards promoting self-compassion and freeing ourselves of internalized impasses. Embracing our potential is a journey shaped through therapeutic reflective dialogues, skill acquisition, and learning to become fully present. I help clients challenge limiting self-beliefs, replacing those beliefs with empowering messages aimed at creating balance, happiness, and authentic well-being.

Hello and welcome to Grow Therapy. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I have worked in the mental health field since 1998. First, with my bachelors degree and later doing clinical work after earning my master's degree. I believe taking care of our mental health should be as accepted and routine as taking care of our physical health. Therapy can help us to be the best versions of ourselves. Life is a beautiful mess. Sometimes everything seems to be going our way. And other times, it can leave us feeling overwhelmed, confused, and off balance. I would like to offer guidance and support as you navigate those ups and downs.

Hi, I'm Lizzie! If you are reading this, I'm proud of you. Starting a journey to get support or become a better version of yourself isn't easy - and you are already doing just that. I hold a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Lafayette College and a master’s degree in Social Work from Temple University. I have worked in the hospital setting (inpatient, research and outpatient clinic), schools, community mental health, and private practice outpatient settings (both in-person and virtually), and have worked with kids, teenagers, and adults. I have always been someone who finds fulfillment in supporting the people around me. I am a child of divorce, part of a blended family, proud dog mom, have struggled with anxiety, have a complicated relationship with food, lover of all things arts and crafts and am always looking for ways to make my at home coffee taste like it does when I buy it out. I pride myself in my ability to be direct and honest - I am human and make mistakes every day just like my clients. I believe in taking a collaborative, solution-focused, and person centered approach to therapy (which starts with getting to know you as a person - not a mental health diagnosis). As a therapist, one of my favorite things to do is help people recognize their unique strengths. Throughout the therapeutic process, I like to explore those hidden talents with you so that you can learn to celebrate, embrace, and use your gifts in practical ways. It is my hope that everyone leaves a conversation with me feeling empowered and excited to create changes that move them one step closer to their goals and being the best version of themselves. Let’s chat and see if I’m a good fit to help you be your best self!

Since I was 17, I’d always wanted to be a therapist. I learned that sometimes it takes more than just healing the mind in order to heal the whole person. That means that sometimes people need healing on emotional, psychological and spiritual levels. I then received two masters degrees, one in mental health counseling, and the other in the applied healing arts. Utilizing both these degrees has helped me to combine both traditional and alternative therapies into my work.
