I am a licensed clinical social worker with my masters from Columbia university and Masters in Divinity from Biblical Theological Seminary. I have 12+ experience in providing therapy for clients in all stages of life from childhood to older adults. I believing in a holistic approach and often collaborate with medical professionals and incorporate people’s spirituality. The past few years I have been providing services for patients from women’s health clinic and older adult clinic with a wide range of mental health issues.
In our first session, we will start with a brief introduction, review medical and mental health history, and discuss your goals and treatment.
My greatest strengths are providing a space for my clients where they do not feel judged and at peace, being direct but in a kind and compassionate way, providing different perspectives to a situation, and providing different exercises and assignments which help foster faster results and also help the patients to feel like their are in control.
Clients I work with are those that have endured trauma, anxiety, depression, medical issues, life transitions, and women issues. I also work with clients who are facing challenges as an older adult and caregivers to older adults,
I have been trained in CBT from the start of my career. CBT is one way to help approach anxiety/depression in a logical and concrete way. I am also trained in cbt- insomnia.
I have been trained in primary care prolonged exposure therapy for trauma patients.
I have obtained my Masters in Divinity. If my patients would like to incorporate their faith in their sessions and approach their sessions in a gospel-centered way I am able to do so. I believe human beings need to be approached in a holistic manner and that also includes their spirituality.
