Welcome! My name is Erin! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in North Carolina and I use the pronouns she/her/hers. I have been in the field of social work for a total of 8 years between internships and post-masters work and landed in the world of therapy for the last 2 years. I graduated with my Masters degree from the University of NC- Greensboro and NC A&T Joint Program.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
The first session is all about getting to know each other! I will get ask questions to learn about your background, what led you to therapy now and get and idea of the whole picture. We will also discuss what your goals are for therapy and begin to brainstorm ideas on how you would like to achieve these. Don’t feel intimidated by this. I don’t have to know EVERYTHING about you in the first session and we don’t have to have your goals all figured out. This session is just the starting point.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
I have a diverse background working in many settings such as DSS, DV shelters, crisis response teams, community mental health, facility based crisis/detox, inpatient mental health, and outpatient therapy. Working in an array of setting has allowed me to develop a skillset to assist you in the journey you have chosen to achieve your goals set for therapy.
