Hi! I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor based in North Carolina currently. I provide teletherapy services to clients in North Carolina and Vermont. I spent most of my adult life in Vermont and will be moving back to Maryland soon where I was born and raised. I received my master's degree in counseling psychology from Antioch New England Graduate School, New Hampshire in 1992 and My Bachelors in Transpersonal Psychology from Burlington College, Vermont, 1987. I do IFS, EMDR, and Somatic work to help clients find lasting and transformative changes in their lives. I incorporate Spirituality into my work. I teach mindfulness and The Law of Attraction, and creative visualization. I am a CPTSD survivor, and I have used these therapies personally to find lasting peace and joy. I enjoy providing compassionate, supportive therapy, and deep insight orientated, transformative therapy. I enjoy helping clients reduce stress, heal codependency, and heal trauma, depression, and grief. I teach clients to find their inner confidence, and courage, to set boundaries with others and stop "people pleasing". I teach clients to Love themselves and communicate clearly and compassionately with others. I help clients to get to the root of their problems, learn to regulate their emotions, and find peace in the midst of worry and distress. I help clients learn to set boundaries in healthy relationships and to leave abusive relationships.

From the generations of unresolved trauma, to the attachment ruptures and dysfunctional family dynamics to the endless systemic challenges, there needs to be a safe space for healing.  This is why this work is important: to break the harmful cycles, to make sure your pain is no longer overlooked or ignored simply because "you are strong".  Glow Up came to be from a passion of mine to educate, heal and empower others to embrace their whole life story. Dr. Simone Blanchard is the Executive Director and Lead Therapist of Inner Light Consulting and Therapeutic Services in the metro Washington DC area. She is a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and holds her LCPC (Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor) in Maryland and Washington, DC. She is also a Trauma Specialist whose training includes working with children impacted by childhood sexual abuse. Dr. Blanchard is a sought-after speaker by both lay and professional audiences. To the general community, she speaks about parenting skills, relationship healing and building, childhood development, and natural healing modalities. To professional audiences, her presentations include mental health diagnoses, interventions, treatment, and prognoses; relationship healing and building; suicide prevention; mind-body connection; and global trauma. Dr. Blanchard earned her graduate degree with high honors in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marymount University. I am a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 8 years of experience helping individuals navigate the complexities of their emotional and psychological well-being. My mission is to provide a safe and non-judgmental space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings, develop coping strategies, and achieve personal growth. I began my work in the trauma field while interning at a domestic violence shelter and have since held positions in the field doing crisis work, case management, group facilitation, and therapy. I have worked with children, individual adults, and families. I assisted in facilitating family meetings, therapeutic treatment groups, and provided community-based services for people impacted by trauma. I have provided services in a variety of settings and with diverse clients, including both long and short-term interventions. I currently work in Montgomery County Public Schools as a School Social Worker working with students who have disabilities.
