What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In your first session I explain details about the therapy process, answer any questions or concerns you may have, and explore your history. We will discuss goals and what you may want from therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

For the last four years I have developed skills that first builds a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients. Second allow a safe place for healing and growth at my clients pace. But I’ve also learned how to appropriately introduce my clients to new techniques that will assist them in their healing journey.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is a goal oriented and problem focused theory that I use to assist clients who need assistance with Generalized Anxiety Disorder and or Major Depressive Disorder. In a collaborative effort CBT will be utilized to identify any negative thinking which shifts into negative behavioral responses. Once certain negative thinking is identified we will begin to utilize CBT to address the issues and learn coping skills to assist.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT is a theory that teaches you that life is complex in many ways and l Your thoughts and needs are valid. But DBT will assist you to shift your responses to healthier more strategic ways to manage your complex life. I utilize DBT with clients who are experiencing symptoms of Post Traumatic stress Disorder, Major depressive disorder and Bipolar disorder

Faith based therapy

I also work with clients who want to integrate faith-based principles into therapy.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I believe everyone should be the authors of their own life. With the person-centered theory you as the client takes more of a lead in sessions. Sometimes you just need to say the things that affect your thoughts that shift your behaviors. I will utilize compassionate listening without judgement and provide encouragement and support to facilitate self discovery.
