My name is Shelly-Ann James-Perelion, and I have over 20 years of experience in education and 12 years of experience as a Licensed Professional Counselor. I served as a high school counselor for seven years and am currently in my sixth year as a Mental Health Intervention Counselor in the CFISD school district. Many of us today are struggling to navigate what seems to be a chaotic world, but I am here positioned to guide you through your fears, traumas, anxieties, depression and other mental health challenges you currently face

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

My first session with clients is all about getting to know each other. I explain who I am and my expectations for future counseling sessions. It's also a time for they to expand on information shared on their intake form.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My deep spirituality and my love for God, allow me to make positive deposits into each session and to act as a catalyst of change for my clients. I want to help you heal, and it would be a privilege to let me accompany you on this journey of self-actualization by finding the right tools and solutions for your specific needs.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Engaging in CBT helps my clients reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression etc. as they begin to reframe unhealthy patterns of thinking and of behavior.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

With my clients, this is helpful in getting them to explore their current situation and how best to move forward into the future.

Trauma Informed Care

When clients can see that so often the way the show up in the world is because of "what happened to them." This creates a shift in the client and allows for the healing process to begin.
