Hi I am a Licensed Professional Counselor licensed in the State of Texas. My specialities include Bipolar Disorder of which I have 7 years experience, diagnosing un-diagnosed disorders, medication management and depression and anxiety. I am also specialized in treating trauma and PTSD with Eye-Movement and Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy which is my main specialty.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
To listen patiently and non-judgement in order to establish trust and understanding. One of my aims is to help my clients to get out all that they are holding within. My job is not to judge but to help, understand and to get people to a better place, where they can learn to find peace, acceptance and understanding for their own issues. The client must work as hard as I do, and I will help them to find the tools they need for coping, and managing to control their anxiety and depression. I think this is very important in order for client healing and managing their distress in order to better cope in everyday life. I am also a very good diagnostician, so if there are any undiagnosed disorders, I can assess and provide the proper treatment for these issues. I also have a good sense of humor and like to put patients at ease in order to get them involved in their own treatment as we are a team. i'm all about teamwork. i am a military veteran of both the Navy and the Air Force and I have worked well with Active Duty, Reserve and veterans. I also have experience with law enforcement and first responders.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
My insight, going deep to get to the root of problems, as I am a trauma specialist, so I am not a good surface counselor, but one who goes deep in order to get to the root of the problem. I am warm and friendly and have a good sense of humor which I believe attracts my clients to me and puts them at ease. I also have great training in diagnosing and in psychopharmacology which not all counselors have that skill in understanding psychiatric medications. I believe in wellness and treatment to teach my clients about gaining tools and CBT to understand their thinking that leads to feeling and behavior and leads to what they do, which many are unsure why they are doing what they do.
