Do you feel you are living a genuine life while making your living? Do you wonder if you know yourself well enough to even know what you really want out of life and what parts of life are most important to you? My mission is to help as many people as I can to live genuine lives while navigating demands and behaviors from those around us (family, significant others, employers and coworkers). I am trauma-competent and informed, and working toward being trauma-specialized. I utilize CBT, Solution-Focused, Attachment, Family Systems, and Adlerian theories to help you uncover your values and goals, resolve relationship traumas, and help you find your path to being genuine to yourself.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

After I introduce myself, I will encourage you to tell me your story in your own words. I prefer to hear your story directly from you, so I can best understand the themes of what you are dealing with as soon as possible. Before the end of the first session, I will ask questions to fill in the gaps on anything that was not shared or understood clearly. I prefer to give homework as this moves you forward in between sessions, and it is where MOST of your work on yourself is done. I believe every individual can be their own best healer. I see myself as helping you figure out how to heal and care for yourself so you can do that for the rest of your life. In the first session, I will also ask you about your goals for our time together. If you already know your goals, that is awesome! If not, we will spend time during future sessions figuring that out so I can use your goals to guide me in how to best support you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strength is building a strong therapeutic relationship with those clients who feel my personality is a good match for them. I like to look at the whole person - your history, your traumas, things that have worked for you, and how you make sense of it all - to help you find your path to knowing yourself better. I will check in with you to be sure I understand where you are at emotionally. I am also a firm believer that you are the expert in you, and my role is to ask questions that help you develop insight into your genuine self. We are partners in this endeavor, and my goal is to walk with you while you find a path where you can be true to you.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is a foundational treatment method for me, and I use it as part of my overall approach that also includes using Adlerian and Jungian concepts from a trauma informed perspective. By using a sense of curiosity and humor, I partner with you to explore how your thoughts are holding you back, while also being mindful of your body's reactions. My goal is to help you develop a strong foundation of healthy self-talk, an awareness of your values so you can better motivate yourself and help you customize your self-care - physically, emotionally, socially and spiritually. Once we know what it is that is important to us, it is much easier to make decisions that help us grow in that direction.
