I am a Licensed Mental Health Provider/ Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of Florida. I graduated with a Master in Clinical Social Work (MSW) from Florida Gulf Coast University. Before my studies at FGCU, I was in the rental business and felt that I was in my calling when I did volunteer work helping people in the US and abroad. After much thought and consulting with family and friends, I decided I wanted to work more hands on helping hurting people through counseling. My philosophy is ultimately to make a difference in the world by helping hurting people.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
I believe we are all born with a purpose to make the world a better place. Sometimes, many of us while growing up knew exactly what we wanted to be or do. For others, it is a process of self-discovery. I help individuals, groups, and families make sense, find harmony, peace and purpose in their lives.
What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?
I use CBT techniques, with a person-centered, solution-focused approach. I believe your thoughts have power over your perceptions and behaviors, and if we increase self-awareness, we can identify the source of the discord. Having worked with different psychiatric conditions, anxiety, and substance abuse, I have experience with group counseling, marriage counseling, family counseling, individual counseling, and teaching psycho-educational groups.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
In treatment I connect, partner, link up with with you. I help you learn how to cope, make sense of your unique experiences through different counseling modalities and skills. Some counseling modalities that I work with are Cognitive Behavioral Therapies (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Client Centered approaches, and Christian counseling.
