Congratulations on taking the first step to feeling better. As a licensed professional counselor in Texas, I’m here to help you take the next step to begin creating a positive change in your life today. I'm 100% bilingual, with a background in healthcare & education. My approach is person centered, trauma informed, and holistic. I work with children, teens, and adults using scientifically driven therapies like EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Behavioral Therapy (SFBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Polyvagal, Play Therapy and Sandtray Therapy, to alleviate complex trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, stress, anger, grief, sleep, insomnia, relationship issues, self-esteem, social anxiety, school issues, ADHD, parenting, a difficult phase in your life or challenging experiences. Working together through a holistic approach, I integrate treatment modalities with sound, sand, expressive arts, laughter yoga, and somatic techniques to meet the needs of each client. Through my compassionate and humanistic approach, I support and empower clients to discover and develop their full potential.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In your first therapy session, I will share my approach, and I will get to know you and understand your situation. You can expect the session to include introductions, a review of documents, and a chance for you to share your story. As your therapist, I will ask questions about your life, background, and what led you to seek therapy, but only to the point where you feel comfortable sharing. Don’t worry, as the client-therapist relationship grows, we will be able to work on more things, as you will gradually begin to feel comfortable and safe in knowing that your time with me is 100% dedicated to helping you heal and accompanying you on your journey. Everything we talk about will be received without judgment, with genuine caring, compassion, and empathy. As your therapist, I may also ask you about your goals for therapy, how you cope, and your symptoms. I might also summarize what you've shared, provide feedback, and make a plan for our next session.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a therapist, my greatest strength is my genuine desire to understand your unique experiences so that I can provide the most effective support. I am a holistic therapist who tailors my approach to each client's unique needs, integrating the best techniques from a variety of therapeutic modalities. My goal is to help you heal, to gain clarity and understanding of the issues causing you distress, and to recognize, harness, and develop your strengths and skills to improve your health and life. Specializing in trauma and EMDR therapy, I effectively assist clients in processing and healing from traumatic experiences, leading to significant relief and transformation. My holistic approach considers your mind, body, and emotional well-being, fostering a comprehensive and individualized treatment plan. I create a safe, non-judgmental space built on compassion and empathy, essential for building trust and openness. With my healthcare background and a deep understanding of evidence-based therapies such as CBT, Polyvagal, SFBT, Mindfulness, DBT, and ACT, I tailor my methods to address your specific challenges and goals. My trauma-informed perspective prioritizes safety, trust, and empowerment, minimizing the risk of re-traumatization. Additionally, I utilize Play Therapy, Sandtray Therapy, sound, vibrations, expressive arts, laughter yoga, and somatic techniques to offer a diverse array of therapeutic options, ensuring that the treatment resonates with your personal preferences and needs. My treatment methods

EMDR

EMDR is an evidence based therapeutic approach that has the ability to facilitate the reprocessing and integration of traumatic memories, enabling individuals to heal from past distress. By using bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements, EMDR helps to unlock and process traumatic memories that are stored dysfunctionally in the brain. This process reduces the emotional charge and negative beliefs associated with these memories, transforming them into more adaptive and constructive perspectives. EMDR can lead to rapid and profound relief from symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, depression, and other trauma-related conditions. Its structured phases support a comprehensive approach to healing, promoting emotional stability, resilience, and overall mental health. I have been using EMDR In my practice since 2020. I integrate EMDR to help clients address and process traumatic memories that are often stored in the brain differently from regular memories. I also incorporate EMDR into my sessions by utilizing Play Therapy, Sandtray Therapy, CBT, Adlerian, Gestalt, Jungian, IFS and CBT approaches depending on the client's journey, affinity and need.

Play Therapy

The therapeutic powers of play therapy are profound, offering a unique avenue for emotional and psychological healing for individuals of all ages, and especially for children. Play allows individuals to express feelings, thoughts, and experiences in a natural and non-threatening way, facilitating communication and emotional expression that might be difficult to articulate verbally. Through play and sandtray therapy, clients can explore and process their experiences, develop problem-solving skills, and build resilience. It helps in reducing anxiety, enhancing self-esteem, fostering healthy social interactions, and it also allows us to work with trauma in a safe and supportive environment. Play therapy creates a safe space to confront and work through their issues, ultimately promoting mental and emotional well-being.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based psychotherapeutic intervention that has been shown to be effective in treating many mental health conditions. CBT focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and aims to help clients identify and change negative thought processes and behaviors. This goal-oriented approach promotes the development of healthier, more adaptive ways of thinking, which in turn leads to emotional and behavioral changes, alleviating symptoms of anxiety, depression, and other issues. CBT equips clients with practical skills for managing stress, solving problems, and enhancing emotional regulation. By empowering individuals to take an active role in their treatment, CBT fosters resilience and supports lasting positive change.

Grief Therapy

As a certified grief counselor, I work with clients through their grief and loss journey. My therapeutic approach is integrative and holistic, as it is very important to address multiple aspects of our lives that acknowledge, validate and support the healing process. Grief therapy is compassionate, person centered, genuine, non-judgemental, and it allows individuals to fully experience their emotions and process their experience through the different stages of grief. By combining empathetic support with practical strategies for coping and resilience, grief therapy helps individuals navigate their grief journey and move toward healing and acceptance.

Trauma Informed Care

Trauma Informed Care is based on the foundational principles of safety, trustworthiness, choice, collaboration, and empowerment. Trauma-informed care acknowledges the pervasive impact of trauma on individuals' lives and recognizes the importance of creating an environment that promotes healing and recovery. By prioritizing safety and fostering a sense of trust and respect, trauma-informed approaches help clients feel validated and understood, reducing the risk of re-traumatization. This approach encourages collaboration between the client and the therapist, allowing for shared decision-making and individualized treatment plans that address the complex effects of trauma. By empowering individuals to participate actively in their healing journey and by promoting resilience and self-advocacy, trauma-informed care supports meaningful and sustainable recovery from trauma-related symptoms and promotes overall well-being.
