Hi! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the states of Kentucky and Tennessee. I received my Masters from Walden University in 2015 and have been practicing since. I am a solution-focused, client-centered therapist who has dedicated my life to assisting others in their journey toward healing and growth. In therapy, we work together to unlearn unwanted behaviors/thoughts and develop tools to regain control over your lives. I am here to support you through the process.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our initial session, we'll begin with introductions and then delve into the specific difficulties you're encountering. This will enable me to develop a personalized plan for our subsequent sessions. You can expect a safe, judgment-free space where you feel empowered to share positive and less positive experiences, feelings, and challenges.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Working in this field since 2015, I take pride in my innate ability to connect with you. My approach has always been client centered allowing us to identify the root cause of your challenges and enable me to develop a personalized plan that leads to measurable progress. Understanding culture is one of the major aspects that allows me to connect to the hearts of my clients.

My treatment methods

Faith based therapy

My lifelong dedication to the Christian faith provides the foundation for my approach to Christian based counseling. This is a client centered approach that integrates faith into therapy through the use of Christian principles, prayer, and scripture.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Through the use of CBT I assist you in developing new patterns of thinking. I help you learn to recognize one's distortions in thinking that are creating problems, and then to reevaluate them in light of reality. You will gain a better understanding of the behavior and motivation of yourself and others.

EMDR

I utilize EMDR in efforts to help people heal from trauma or other distressing life experiences. During EMDR, you focus on a traumatic memory while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation, usually eye movements. The goal is to change the way the memory is stored in the brain, which can reduce or eliminate problematic symptoms.

Grief Therapy

I utilize The Grief Recovery Method (GRM) to help grievers process and heal from the emotional pain caused by loss. Through this method I help you understand grief, identify losses, explore unresolved grief, reach emotional completion, and develop techniques to help process unspoken emotions.

Couples Counseling

Through the use of Gottman techniques, couples develop a deeper understanding of personal needs and the needs of their partner. I also help you learn to overcome challenges in a relationship for more joy with and appreciation of each other.
