What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
In the initial session, the client can expect to review paperwork and administrative tasks. Clients will review the completed paperwork, which includes personal information, consent forms, and questionnaires about their medical history, mental health concerns, and goals for therapy. Next, I will invite the client to talk about the reasons they sought therapy, including their current struggles, symptoms, and any specific goals they hope to achieve through therapy. This is an opportunity for the client to express their thoughts and feelings openly. Most likely, I will ask questions to gather more information about the client's background, including their personal history, relationships, family dynamics, and any previous experiences with therapy or mental health treatment. This helps me understand the client's unique needs and tailor the treatment accordingly.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
My greatest strength is I have a deep capacity for empathy, allowing them to understand and resonate with their clients' experiences, emotions, and perspectives. I am a skilled listener who pays close attention to my clients' verbal and nonverbal cues. They listen without judgment, provide validation, and reflect on what the client is expressing to ensure understanding. My approach to my clients is with acceptance and respect, free from judgment or bias. I adhere to ethical guidelines and maintain appropriate professional boundaries to ensure the safety and well-being of their clients.
