Hello and Welcome. I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in depression, anxiety, panic attacks, anger management, problem gambling and healthy living with a chronic illness for 22 years. By creating a safe, supportive environment, I help clients address challenging issues and life transitions with compassion, insight and gentle humor. I focus on your strengths while incorporating problem solving strategies that allow you to become an active participant in the healing process. The decision to enter therapy takes courage. It can be hard work. It can also change your life and I'm a firm believer that it's never too late to make those changes.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

It is my intention that what we do together will have value and you will feel empowered with coping skills, an understanding of the mind-body interaction and a new perspective that will bring about positive changes. Your life and your relationships will improve.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I feel that my biggest strength is recognizing that therapy is a partnership and I understand it takes courage and perseverance to make changes. I also understand that each person has individual needs. Navigating and growing through depression, anxiety, anger, gambling addictions, a chronic illness or other challenges can be a difficult journey. I am able to provide support, insight and tools to help you move forward so you can achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy helps us identify our belief system and ways of thinking that are rational and helpful and the beliefs and thinking that are irrational and not helpful. CBT helps us process information and modify irrational thoughts to thoughts that better serve us when responding to life's circumstances and situations. We speak to ourselves more than anyone else and those thoughts determine our feelings. CBT provides tools to help people respond to life and restructure thoughts that no longer serve them well.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Everyone has the ability to change. Even if there have been past failures at attempts to change, you can still change. Solution Focused Brief Therapy helps individuals identify their strengths and resources. It focuses on solutions, not problems and understands that change is a process, not an overnight event. It starts with small steps that will lead to big changes. A favorite quote is "No one fails until they stop trying." Everyone is capable of changing for the better.
