Hi, I am Patricia, Do you find yourself struggling with controlling your feelings? Are you feeling sad or anxious? Do you struggle with self-esteem? As your therapist, I will work with you to help you identify your desires and empower you to make positive changes in your life. Deciding to seek help can be a difficult decision, so I use an approach that is compassionate, direct, and non-judgemental to create an environment where you feel supported as you take your counseling journey. I currently focus my expertise on anxiety, depression, anger management, self-esteem issues, and family issues. I utilize a strengths-based approach which focuses on your strengths to build the coping skills that will assist you with coping with your life's struggles. I take a "whole person" approach which addresses the needs of the mind, body, and spirit. Whatever life struggles you are dealing with, I am here to help. I will provide a safe place where you can heal and grow. I will meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques to allow you to overcome the struggles you are facing. Let's get to work!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions and then dive into the specific challenges bringing you to therapy. This will help me to create a specific plan for us to work through in our follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength as a therapist is my compassion and ability to listen and not be judgemental. I also believe my 20 years in counseling are an asset to my abilities. Experience, not only work but also life experience is important when working with others in a therapeutic session. I am structured, punctual, and caring. I feel my work in the field has provided me with a knowledge base which is important when working in the mental health field.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have utilized CBT during my years as a mental health therapist to assist client's with changing their way of thinking, changing negative thinking to a more positive thinking. This allows the client to work on anxiety, depression, etc. with their homework as I feel therapy should continue through the week and not just the time of their session. CBT is used to work on a client's mental health through homework, role plays, discussion, and many other strategies.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

This treatment approach is useful in assisting the client in becoming aware of how they respond to different emotions. I use it to teach the client to identify their emotions and work on using meditation, self-talk, etc. to decrease and better cope with these feelings.
