I work with Clients (14-105 years of age) who would like to explore areas outside of their comfort zone, learn new coping skills, or just need a neutral person in their life. I work with students, teachers, medical professionals, and first responders/military as well those with family issues/divorce, custody issues, and non-traditional families. Mental health is complicated and sometimes involves a clinical diagnosis, other times, counseling is self-exploration. I am open to all conversations and issues.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
The first session aims to establish a therapeutic bond, trust and the opportunity to learn about each other. I want to hear about you, and you are free to ask me questions as well. I will inquire about you, as our conversation evolves, to help me understand your past and what your daily life looks like.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
I believe everyone deserves to be heard in a judgment-free zone, with warmth and understanding. I want Clients to feel they can share their thoughts, feelings and life experiences (including trauma) with me and feel safe while doing so. Some choose to view me as a neutral facilitator while others view our relationship as their safe place.
