I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor working in South Florida for the past seven years. I graduated with a Masters in Psychology from Florida International University. I have worked with adults, adolescents, and children. I have worked with clients to help alleviate symptoms of depression, anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, ADHD, and interpersonal conflicts. I am fluent in both English and Spanish.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session is an opportunity for the client to sit and reflect on what their wants/needs are for therapy and we collaborate together to create treatment goals. I provide clients with an outline of how therapy is structured but letting the client know the structure is flexible in order to meet their needs. During the first session I also encourage clients to ask questions in order to address any concerns but more importantly to provide the client with the opportunity to advocate for themselves and their goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strengths are providing clients with tools and resources to better understand and manage their symptoms. I like to help my clients feel empowered by not only helping them understand triggers for their symptoms but provide them with practical tools they can use to increase their insight and accomplish the goals they have set out for themselves.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Thoughts effect emotions and emotions effect our behavior. Using CBT methods I help client gain greater insight into automatic thoughts that are often distorted and help them balance out those those so that clients have more balanced emotions and behavior.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy builds upon the principles of cognitive therapy by using techniques such as mindfulness meditation to teach clients to consciously pay attention to their thoughts and feelings without placing any judgments upon them.
