Hi! I'm a licensed clinical mental health counselor in NC and I have eight years of experience helping my community through counseling, advocacy, and volunteerism. My passion is to help others heal, learn, and grow! To open my services to more than just my town, I provide counseling via telehealth to clients living all over the state from a very comfy chair in my home office.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
Rest assured, I know how nerve-wrecking, and even scary, it can be to walk into your first therapy session. Whether I'm your first therapist, or your 20th, there's usually a degree of anxiety opening up with a new provider. That's why I aim to make our first session as safe and relaxed as possible. You can count on me to acknowledge the effort it takes to come to a first session, provide an open and warm space, and most importantly, encourage you to share your story with me a quickly or slowly as you feel comfortable. My only expectations for our first session is that we get through housekeeping (important paperwork) and have time to talk about how you're feeling about beginning a new therapy journey.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
My superpowers as a provider are using a little technique called "the here and now." When you work with me, you can expect that I will help you slow down, pause, and really pay attention to what is happening to you in the moment. Often, that is where we will find what is most important- your truth! You can trust that I will help you, when you're ready, to take a look in the mirror and work to love what you see (emotionally!).
