Welcome! You made the first step of looking up a therapist. Hang in there, you're almost there. Regardless of family structure, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, race, or other minority identity, you are welcome. Though it’s up to you to determine whether I meet the definition of ‘ally’, I will always do my best to provide a welcoming, inclusive, safe space for all, and view therapy through a social justice lens. I’m also someone who’s experienced burnout, and body image + identity issues, and someone who’s gotten through it with deep and extensive self-care, reflection, and big life transitions. I get it – change is hard, but you already have what you need within you to make it happen. If you're telling yourself you should be able to get better on your own, that's really not true. It's a made up rule you're telling yourself and it's rooted in stigma. Everybody needs some help sometimes! My style has been called refreshingly honest, direct, and I've been told I have a good "BS detector". I enjoy helping people learn to become better at trusting their own intuition. I like helping people who feel like their "life is a mess", and want to start living differently by making big changes. There is a lot of laughter in my office.

Yes! You already took the first step by reading this, so let’s take the rest together. I get it, you may have been dealing with life, and all of its problems, alone. It’s stressful and it seems as though it's easier to just give up, but before you do, imagine this… What if I told you that you do not have to experience that anymore? What if I told you that it gets easier and more manageable with a therapist? Would that change your mind? Life can be hard and feeling like you have to handle it all on your own is even harder. We want to feel heard, understood, and supported, but sometimes, people really just don’t understand. People may recommend therapy as an option, but usually that is met with “But there’s nothing wrong with me.” I always say that when someone seeks therapy, it doesn’t mean something is wrong with them, it means that they are dedicated to making sure nothing goes wrong. Going through therapy can be overwhelming at times, but with the right support and an open mind, therapy can be a very rewarding experience towards peace of mind and an improved quality of life. The best part about therapy is that YOU are in control! It is a journey that we will take together with you in the driver’s seat and me guiding you from the passenger side, and maybe choosing an awesome playlist from time to time! (As you can see, I like to add a little humor). I hope that once we develop a trusting relationship, we can work together to address some of your concerns and goals for the future. You made it this far, why not see if we’re a good match?

Hi! I'm Jasmine and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker that has been practicing therapy for 6 years. I obtained a Bachelors in Psychology in 2010 at Eastern Michigan University and completed my Master of Social Work at Johnson C. Smith University, graduating in 2017. Do you have a hard time with change and life transitions? Do you feel overstimulated and unable to ground yourself? Do you feel isolated or "different" from everybody else? Are you exploring your identity, sexuality, or self-image? Are you seeking a therapist who can provide an atmosphere where you feel comfortable enough to vent, find relief, and explore your story– however unconventional it may be? Do you crave a space where you can find yourself or be encouraged to be the expert on your life while being held accountable for your goals? If you want to live a life that aligns with your values or true identity while communicating and reinforcing your boundaries, I can help you get there. Together, using strength-based and person-centered therapy with a psychodynamic touch (and a healthy dose of humor), we can partner and begin your journey to building the confidence to be who you are and enhancing your strengths. Finally, feel self-assured in your value and speak up for what you want in your life, relationships, and career. If you’re ready to build a happy, thriving life while being true to yourself, let’s chat today. I come from a military family that has been located throughout the United States, allowing me the opportunity to meet people from varying cultures and backgrounds. This has contributed to my ability to become more culturally competent and open-minded when working with different clients. When I’m not in therapist mode, I’m... Either out and about on the town attending open mics, enjoying brunch, having fun at concerts or at home watching the Food Network, cartoons, dramas, and comedies.
