Desirrae Anderson-Harris is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 11 years of experience as a mental health therapist. Mrs. Harris is also the proud spouse of a disabled Army veteran. Her specializations include working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, veterans, and military families. During her time as an officer on active duty she worked with diverse patient populations while serving as Deputy Chief of the Intensive Outpatient Program. Her treatment modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, Trauma and Marital/Couples Counseling. Mrs. Harris has extensive experience treating anxiety, depression, anger issues, grief/loss, trauma, and conflict resolution.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During the first session, my clients can expect an introduction of my experience and background as well as a review of informed consent protocols. After this discussion, we will begin the assessment portion to gather information on what led them to therapy.

Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Suicide Prevention (CBT-SP)

Utilizing CBT provider helps the patient identify the connection between thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Provider specializes in helping the patient identify cognitive distortions.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Provider utilizing principles of ACT by reviewing radical acceptance and how accepting these principles can improve patient outlook and mental functioning.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

Utilizing the ABC's of challenging negative thoughts the provider helps the patient explore negative thoughts and the origins of those thoughts to improve mental functioning and address past trauma.
