My name is Alex, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW/LMSW) with 7 years of experience in the mental health field. I received my master’s degree in social work at UTSA. My practice focus is with individuals, couples and adults/elderly looking for support. I like helping individuals manage emotional challenges of any trauma, bipolar, schizophrenia, depression; anxiety; relationship issues; adult ADHD; work issues, self-esteem issues, chronic illness, and adjustment to change. I have worked with Individuals and families for more than 15 years and 7 specifically on mental health (outpatient/Inpatient). I am an empathetic clinician who believes in change through a therapeutic alliance between therapist and client.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have been working with Individuals and families for the last 15 years and the last 7 specifically in a mental health setting. Having worked with young and older adults for so many years, I've developed a tried-and-true playbook for helping you (a) identify the root cause of your challenges and (b) create a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress.

My treatment methods

Strength-Based

I love helping clients to discover and reaffirm the best in themselves in order to see their own value and act upon. This will help them capitalize on their strengths rather than focusing on their negative characteristic.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT approach helps changing thought patterns that leads to anxiety or depression.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I have helped clients developed skills related to accepting past or harmful events by making changes through analyzing their behavior and accepting their feelings to move forward in life.

Eclectic

Based on the idea that no single approach works for everyone and that each person. Personalized approach.
