Ness Ruvalcaba
Hello! My name is Jennifer and I am a licensed MFT. I have been in community mental health for 8 years, and have had much success working with children and families in the child welfare system and on probation. I have also provided mental health counseling to children, families, and adults in both the field-based and outpatient/private setting. Currently, I serve as the Clinical Director of a mental health diversion program, providing resources and support to the forensic population as they reintegrate into the community.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
In our first session, we will go over some housekeeping rules and I will tell you a little bit about myself. I'll also answer some questions you may have about therapy. I'll be conducting an informal assessment through your telling of your story, and what brings you to therapy.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
My #1 greatest strength is my ability to forge a strong therapeutic alliance. My #2 greatest strength is helping my clients uncover their unmet needs, and the maladaptive behaviors they've developed over time to help get those needs met. Then finding new, more adaptive ways to get them met.
