I’m a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) based in North Carolina. I completed my masters degree in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia at both Liberty University and the University of Lynchburg. I have been working in the mental health field for over six years and providing clinical outpatient therapy for over 3 years. I have worked with a diverse group of individuals across many age ranges, ethnicities, and belief systems to achieve a greater sense of agency, purpose, and self acceptance.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
In our first session together, I will provide a quick overview of how the therapeutic process works in a virtual setting, discuss any questions or concerns you have regarding this process, and most importantly, learn about your personal goals regarding therapy to ensure I am the best fit to meet your needs.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
The main question I ask myself when working with clients is not, “What kind of treatment do they need?” But “what kind of relationship do they need?” I believe my greatest strength as a therapist is providing a safe and supportive relationship for you to begin healing. I also bring 6 years of mental health experience that allows me to provide quality, evidence-based treatment to meet your unique goals and needs.

VirtualMy treatment methods
Attachment-based
I have worked with adults across a diverse range of ethnicities, ages, socioeconomic status and belief systems, and in my experience, I have witnessed the ways in which early life relationships impact mental health and overall quality of life. I utilize attachment theory to help individuals identify their limiting beliefs that were formed in childhood about themselves, others, and the world. My ultimate goal is to assist clients in establishing a secure relationship first with themselves and then with others to achieve a greater sense of well being and connectedness.
Compassion Focused
I believe that shame is a driving force at the root of most mental illness. I utilize compassion focused techniques to assist individuals with increasing self acceptance and building a secure relationship with themselves and others. By increasing self compassion, I have witnessed clients significantly reduce shame and suffering.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
I am certified in Somatic Internal Family Systems Therapy. I believe this is a powerful method to assist clients with understanding and increasing acceptance of all the different parts of themselves. I have witnessed clients gain powerful insight into their unconscious motivations for repeating unwanted behaviors while simultaneously increasing self-compassion and the ability to self-soothe.
On average, UnitedHealthcare StudentResources clients pay $0-$38
