Welcome! Making the decision to better your mental health is an important step toward improving your quality of life and feeling healthier. I am a seasoned, Clinical Psychologist with 25 years of extensive experience assisting clients identify problem areas that are contributing to distress and unhappiness in their lives and develop strategies to reduce symptoms and improve quality of life. I have a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University and have worked in many different settings with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma and those dealing with life stressors or events that are interfering with life. I strive to create a safe, warm and welcoming environment that allows clients to feel at ease as they explore and work on obstacles /problems to lead to positive change. I look forward to working with you on your journey to better health and peace of mind.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
A first session will include time getting acquainted, gathering a history and understanding of the issue that brought you to treatment, discussion of your goals and expectations and what you hope to get out of therapy. Together a treatment plan is developed, including a review of the type of therapy that would be the best fit based on our meeting together, where you want to be a month from now, six months from now, a year from now.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
Strengths I bring to the therapy relationship are my extensive experience, a commitment for open and direct communication and flexibility to meet the needs of clients. I believer in providing a warm and welcoming treatment space, respect individuality and diversity and an appreciation for the uniqueness in each person's situation. I believe I do a good job in working together with clients, gently encouraging and building change and confidence
