I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 25 years of clinical experience. I graduated from the University of Miami in 1996. My aim as a psychotherapist is to help people identify and change troubling behaviors, thoughts and emotions. Throughout the years, I have helped clients develop healthier and effective habits by using scientifically validated techniques. I use a practical approach to treatment in order to help clients develop effective coping skills. I am also a qualified clinical supervisor for Mental Health counselors and Marriage and Family therapists in the state of Florida. I have worked in my own private practice for over ten years. Making my clients feel comfortable and safe in the therapeutic process is my main goal as a therapist.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together I will ask you about the specific problem for which you are seeking therapy, about you and how you cope. In that first session the most important goal is to start making a connection and to create a goal for therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a therapist I possess an existential understanding of human nature and the tools necessary to overcome challenges. I am a member of ASRM(American Association of Reproductive Medicine), I have a post master's certification in Mindfulness and Therapeutic Practices, a certification in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders as well as clinical training in Trauma.

My treatment methods

Interpersonal

I use the treatment modality Interpersonal Psychotherapy which focuses on exploring your current relationships with other people and how those relationships may contribute to your current mental health. For example, if you are going through a breakup or facing a rejection, we can use Interpersonal Psychotherapy and help you understand and address the feelings those experiences bring up, which will improve your mental health.

Eclectic

I value the fact that each client is unique and has unique needs in therapy. In using an Eclectic therapy approach, I use relevant techniques from other evidence based therapy modalities to create an individualized treatment plan.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

When using CBT I work with clients to identify and challenge negative thought patterns and behaviors.
