Hello, I am Chris Coleman. I possess 2 Masters degrees: Professional Counseling & Addiction Counseling. A dually licensed therapist in Virginia as a Licensed Professional Counselor & Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Provider. I work with those challenged with substance use, mental health and co-occurring disorders. I have over two decades in the field, demonstrating compassion, non-condemning, empathic setting, with a direct approach to meet you where you are.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
When we meet , we'll start with brief introductions, and in the assessment, we will build a working relationship, to find out where you are, and where you desire to go. Then, we'll look at the specific challenges you're facing. This will help us to create a plan, like tailor made clothing, for us to work through in following sessions.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
Having worked in this field for the time I have, there is one of many statements that help guide me in working with you: "If it causes a problem, then it is a problem". My strengths start with my compassion and empathy for people, and the two greatest assets are the two body parts on the side of my head: My ears! Hearing your story of what you desire to change.
