We each have experiences from early in our life that have left us wounded. As adults, we tend to recreate these wounds to feel more in control and hope for a better outcome. In my work with clients, we start to map out these unconscious cycles, identify how to enact change and combat any obstacles that may arise. Hi, my name is Sadie, and I am a licensed counselor. I received a Master's degree from USF's Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling program, with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy. Whether you are dealing with trauma, grief, generational wounds, depression, or anxiety, I am here to offer guidance and support every step of the way. In my practice, I draw from a variety of evidence-based approaches to tailor therapy to each individual's needs. My goal is to create a safe and non-judgmental space where you can explore your emotions, gain insight into your experiences, and develop the necessary tools for growth and healing. I am committed to providing personalized and empathetic care to help you achieve lasting positive change.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our initial work together, we will take some time to explore your history and the presenting difficulties you are experiencing. I want to first and foremost encourage a safe space where you feel heard. I believe in having the foundational structure of a treatment plan to make sure we are using the time in the most effective way possible for YOU! I pride myself on staying up to date with the latest information in my field and can also provide plenty of resources and psychoeducation. I am passionate about decreasing gatekeeping and want to empower my clients with as much information as possible. I provide the roadmap, but you're the one who is in the driver's seat on this journey.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I am trained in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which focuses on identifying and challenging negative thought patterns to promote healthier behaviors and emotions. I am also skilled in Prolonged Exposure, a specialized therapy that addresses trauma and helps individuals gradually confront and process distressing memories. Additionally, I have training in Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy, a model that emphasizes building secure emotional bonds and fostering self-compassion. I work from a person-centered framework, meaning I operate on a case-by-case basis and will often pull tools from each of these therapies to tailor our sessions to what works best for you!

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having a background in Marriage and Family Therapy but focusing on the Individual gives me a better understanding of some of the cycles we go through in our closest relationships. If you find that you keep on dating the same people, take on the same role in your family dynamics, or are constantly running into the same issues in your friendships, my therapeutic modalities are going to be a perfect fit for you to break through and make a change.
