Hello.... my name is Christine and I have been a clinical social worker for 24 years. Looking back at my young years, I found myself in helping roles as a child, assisting the elderly, the blind and the marginalized. I seemed to have a calling to the helping professions and was blessed enough to have recognized it. Once I entered higher education, I thrived with like-thinkers and was recognized for my academic achievements and was selected to give the commencement speech to over 5000 graduates representing the School of Social Work. I've served many years in direct practice and progressed into upper management throughout the years. To this day, I still feel rewarded each and everyday doing what I do best! I welcome you to embark on a journey that takes us in together to help you live the best life you can live.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

They can expect to learn about what the experience will be for them, answer any questions, listen to their initial story, encourage them to feel free and comfortable in expressing themselves and form a therapeutic relationship.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest and most successful strengths as a provider is my ability to reach people, my ability to transfer my warmth and genuineness to others and my ability to allow people to be their true selves.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

The famous psychologist Carl Rogers developed this person-centered treatment to facilitate a client's "actualizing tendency" toward growth and fulfillment, while utilizing warmth, genuineness and empathic understanding. This method helps liberate clients to express their true feelings without fear of judgment, explores issues in a non-prescriptive way and aids in helping the client untangle and find answers true to themselves.

Psychodynamic

Via this approach, psychological forces underlying human behavior, feelings and emotions, related to early experiences can be examined to determine where intrapsychic conflict may exist and helps the client to unravel conscious and unconscious motivations. Viewing that all behavior is purposeful, this theory helps to uncover repressed experiences and emotions and provides the ability to re-work early traumas and dysfunctional experiences.

Trauma Informed Care

This approach aims to create welcoming and engaging environments and services for people who have experienced trauma. It's based on the understanding that traumatic experiences can be overwhelming thus the treatment seeks to restore a sense of safety, control and self-worth.
