I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. I graduated from the University of Texas Pan-American (now UTRGV) and worked 10 years for as a Vocational counselor working with individuals to help them understand their diagnosis and how this impact employment and relationships.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
Our first session will consist of introduction. I would like to know your story and your journey that has brought you to connect with a counselor. I would like to know your goals and your priorities. I would like to know your expectations and what you hope to gain from our client/counselor relationship. This will ensure we set goals that meet your expectations.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
My greatest strength is being able to understand my clients. Sometimes we may feel a certain way but not know how to express what we feel or mean. As a counselor, it is my role to help the client better understand what is within them and help them unravel their thoughts to better understand themselves and their goals.
