My credentials are: BA, MS, MBA, MA-PC, MA-AC, LPC, CAADC, CCTP, and CFTP. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) in the State of Michigan. As a therapist, my goal is to assist my clients in working through issues that negatively affect them in their daily lives. I use integrative approaches to therapy (i.e., mindfulness, relaxation, etc.). As both a salutogenic psychotherapist and a neurotherapist I understand that the source of complex PTSD is past experiences and their need for reconciliation. Therefore, clients are offered a variety of curative therapies. The success rate of salutogenic trauma-informed therapy is over 90% as compared to the 20-30% efficacy of conventional CBT therapy. The success of therapy is fundamentally based on the therapeutic relationship built between the client and the therapist, therefore I am here to support, empower, and work with you.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will start with brief introductions. In a brief assessment, we will gather basic information on you, your family, your issues, and your goals for therapy. This will enable the development of a specific treatment plan. Next, we will begin to dive into your specific issues and the challenges you are facing. Next, we begin your psychoeducation, thus enabling the start of "curative therapy" by the third session.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Establishing a therapeutic relationship and creating a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress. Having worked with young professionals for the past 7 years, I've developed a tried-and-true playbook for helping you: 1- Identify the root cause of your challenges, and 2- create a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress.

My treatment methods

Narrative

As a Salutogenic and Integrative therapist, I know that the therapy used is dependent upon the client's needs and issues. I would love to be ethically and legally able to say..." This is the only therapy you will ever need, despite anything you've tried before...with satisfaction guaranteed". While it may well be true, modesty prohibits hyperbole. For example, to mitigate anger, depression, and anxiety leading to complex PTSD one can rely on reconciliation using a highly successful variation of Narrative Exposure Therapy and Compassionate Inquiry, along with the full spectrum of Cognitive and Operant Behavioral therapies.

Integrative

For addictions utilizing Motivational Interviewing, Operant Behavioral Therapy, and Compassionate Inquiry are the preferred treatment modalities. For more generalized issues such as Adjustment Disorder, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT and all of its permutations, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) yield dynamic results. for example, we'll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressed life.
