Hi, I'm Cynthia, a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 20 years of experience. I help people overcome challenges in their lives, such as life transitions, stress, grief and loss, and relationship issues. Thank you for taking the first step towards improving your mental health by choosing therapy. This process can bring up a range of emotions, but I'm here to guide you through it.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first counseling session is a chance for us to get to know each other. I'll ask you some questions about your background, your reasons for seeking counseling, and what you've tried so far to address your concerns. This will help me to tailor the treatment plan to your specific needs. I may also ask you about your current symptoms, if you have any. Once I have a better understanding of your desired outcome, we will work together to develop a treatment plan that outlines your goals for therapy and the steps that you will take to achieve them.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I'm easygoing and can go with the flow, which is important for giving my clients the best possible care. I create a safe and supportive space where they can feel comfy opening up to me. Communication is essential for building strong relationships, so I model setting clear boundaries, communicating effectively, and offering guidance without judgment.

Psychodynamic

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

The Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) approch can help you learn how to deal with difficult thoughts and feelings. It facilitates acceptance of these thoughts and feelings as a natural part of life, rather than trying to control or get rid of them. ACT also helps you to focus on what is important, such as our values, and take action towards them.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

Emotionlly Focused Therapy (EFT) explores the connection between emotions and needs. We'll focus is on managing distressful emotional states and improving personal relationships.
