Hi! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Georgia. In addition to being a LPC, I hold a specialized certification as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC-II) and a Medication Assisted Treatment Specialist (MATS). I have worked in the field of treatment for Substance Use Disorders and co-occurring mental health disorders in a variety of settings, including residential and outpatient treatment and community health since 2016. I am passionate about helping individuals overcome the oppression of addiction and trauma, which go hand-in-hand. With a compassionate, individualized approach, I provide a non-judgmental space for my clients to process their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. I help my clients gain insight into their thoughts and feelings, develop healthier coping strategies, and cultivate resilience.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session is focused on getting to know one another. I will ask questions about you, your needs, your hopes for the future, and what your overall goals may be in relation to therapy. I want to know what it is that you want out of your sessions so that we can develop a roadmap to get where you want to be. We are partners in this journey, and I will want to know what it is that you need from me. This is also the perfect time for you to ask any questions that you may have about me, therapy, and the therapeutic process.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a provider, I take great pride in being a safe person with whom clients can share. I provide unconditional positive regard for my clients with empathy and compassion. My greatest strength is lived experience. I am also certified as a peer specialist in addictive disease which means that I am a person in long-term recovery. This allows my clients to experience a feeling of being truly understood. My goal is for my clients to feel heard and seen as the unique individuals that they are. I help clients identify their strengths and provide them with tools for healthier coping skills with which they can overcome their unique challenges while learning to thrive, rather than just survive.

No one knows you better then you, and there is no "one size fits all" approach to therapy that works 100% of the time. My therapeutic approach is based upon empathy and trust. I believe that people can ultimately make the changes they want to make when counseling is a supportive and honest professional relationship. I use a variety of modalities that provide the best evidence-based results including Trauma-informed, Solution-focused, Person-centered, Motivational Interviewing, Supportive Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-focused CBT, and Psycho-education. My approach is integrative, strengths-based, and holistic. With me, my clients learn the tools needed to achieve their best life.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, also known as CBT, is one of the most common treatment modalities used in psychotherapy. Simply put, CBT is evidence-based and it helps to achieve self-awareness by teaching you to think about what you're thinking about. I strive to create an environment where people can increase their self-awareness, identify and challenge negative thoughts, and identify and modify their core beliefs. CBT can be used as structure for treatment of a variety of mental health issues, behavioral problems, and emotional challenges. By incorporating CBT techniques into my practice, I empower my clients with the tools needed to surmount many challenges, including substance use disorders, anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma, while improving their mental health and quality of life.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dialectical Behavior Therapy, also known as DBT, is a specialized type of CBT that incorporates mindfulness techniques to help you become more aware of your emotions. The implementation of DBT tools in daily life help to foster healthier coping skills, emotional well-being, and stability.
