Licensed to practice in 3 states and accepts 41 insurances. Specializes in Anxiety, Depression, Parenting and 10 more.
Hello. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who has been practicing for over 20 years. I work with adults, couples, and families including children, and adolescents. My goal is to work with each person individually from a person-centered perspective. I want you to feel that you are in control of your progress by identifying your needs and focusing on your strengths . My specialties include depression, anxiety, relationship issues, behavioral challenges, post-partum depression, parenting, chronic illness, and grief. I am available to see clients in Kentucky in-person or telehealth, and Michigan or Minnesota via telehealth. The person centered approach means that the client is the center of everything from the initial assessment, to the development of the goals, to the treatment that is provided. It is important that you know you are accepted and with therapy you are able to address the concerns you have and learn to effectively work through them. I understand therapy can feel uncomfortable and the thought of sharing yourself with someone you don't know (yet) can be overwhelming. Give me a call and we can talk for an initial conversation to see if it will be a good fit.
During our first session we will begin by getting to know each other. I will complete an assessment to gather information on your history as well as what is bringing you in for therapy now. Then together we will develop goals for treatment.
I think my strength lies in my diversity of experiences. From working with teens, to new parents, to adults. I have worked in both rural and urban settings and enjoy getting to know each of my clients individually.
I enjoy working with clients who are motivated for change. This looks different for each person and we will work together to determine your goals and what you want to accomplish with therapy.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I was initially trained in CBT while working on my Master's Degree. It is a the core of my practice. Connecting thoughts, feelings, and reactions. I think it is a good way to start becoming more self-aware and learning what areas of change you want in your life.
Culturally Sensitive Therapy
I have been licensed in 4 different states and worked with a diversity of people. I believe that my practice is person centered and focuses on the individual person and what their perspectives are. I want to learn from my clients who they are and how their cultural identity has impacted who they are and the experiences they are having.
Gender-affirming therapy
As part of my person centered care I work to meet people where they are and that begins with understanding who each person is from their perspective.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I have incorporated mindfulness into my practice for many years. I have found this is a good way to increase self-awareness. Mindfulness is especially helpful in managing depression and anxiety.
Strength-Based
I think it is important to focus on each person's strengths over their deficits. Sometimes that may be hard to see when you first start counseling but it is often the goal to increase positive self perception.

Lynn is caring, thoughtful, and kind. She can listen to me and then give me her thoughts and challenge me without being pushy.

Lynn was kind and direct from the start. She asked good questions but also let you talk freely.
