Greetings! I am a Licensed Certified Social Worker(LCSW). I completed my Master's at the University of Missouri-Columbia(MIZ-ZOU). I have over 17 years counseling experience. I get the most joy from partnering with individuals who may be struggling with phase of life challenges and would benefit from a fresh, non-judgmental perspective. My years of experience has allowed me the opportunity to gain extensive training and clinical practice with individuals struggling with addiction, trauma and mental health related challenges.
In our first session, you can expect for us to get familiar with one another and identify your purpose for choosing therapy at this time. We call this building rapport. At the end of your first session we will have a loose idea of goals and how we will get there.
My greatest strength as your provider is my broad experience. I will utilize all of my past experience and training to assist you with achieving your goal(s).
I enjoy working with adults who are encountering life and desire a safe place to figure it out. I am especially impressed with the transitions that can take place when individuals can learn to listen to their own instincts.

It has been my experience when I have the previledge to come alongside individuals during their time of need and speak to their spirit, soul and body. It shifts their perspective.
Motivational interviewing is so helpful because it gets to the core of intent and action. When a person has the opportunity to identify their "why" for themselves they identify their individual buy in.
Strengths based does not give room for deficit based thinking. It's the exact opposite. Partnering to shift the interpersonal communication to a "I can" mindset takes time and intention, and it is so rewarding.

Candace was wonderful. Sometimes internally I know what general direction I need to take to improve certain stressors in my life, but I lack the confidence to make changes out of fear or anxiety. She asks really wonderful thought-provoking questions that help me understand WHY making necessary changes in my life is absolutely in my best interest, even if it feels uncomfortable at first. She was warm and I felt extremely comfortable speaking openly. I'm looking forward to future sessions!

Candace has been an incredible therapist. She is compassionate and insightful. She listens without judgment, asks thoughtful questions, and provides practical guidance that has genuinely helped me grow. I appreciate how supportive and attentive she is while also challenging me in productive ways. I’ve made meaningful progress working with her and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and effective therapist.
