About me

I am a seasoned educator, school and mental health counselor. I've been through divorce and have two young adults. I am a curious, big-picture thinker who is comfortable asking direct questions and offering a different perspective. I sometimes gently challenge a client's first interpretation of a situation so we can consider what else may be true. My style is conversational, practical, and collaborative, with room for humor and honest discussion.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

My approach is conversational, practical, and focused. I use brief, solution-focused, narrative, and cognitive strategies to help clients understand patterns, clarify what needs attention, and identify next realistic steps.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My strength as a counselor is helping people step back and see the larger picture. I listen carefully, but I also ask direct questions and sometimes offer a different perspective—not to argue with you, but to help us examine assumptions, patterns, and possibilities that may be easy to miss when you're in the middle of a difficult situation. My style is conversational, practical, and curious. I don't believe my job is simply to agree with everything you say or to tell you what to do. I see counseling as a collaborative process where we can look honestly at what's working, what isn't, and what you may want to do differently. Clients who appreciate thoughtful conversation, a little humor, and a counselor who is willing to gently challenge their thinking may feel especially comfortable working with me.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is someone who is willing to be curious. You don't need to arrive with the right words, a clear goal, or even certainty that therapy will help. I work best with people who are open to exploring different perspectives, examining patterns, and considering what else might be true. My style tends to be active and collaborative, so I am a good fit for clients who want to understand themselves but also want to move toward something different. You can be unsure. You can be skeptical. You can even disagree with me. I simply ask that you be willing to explore.
