Hello! My name is Tia Carlson. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed School Psychologist. I have over 20 years of experience working with children and adults. I became aware of my calling while in middle school. Since that time, I have devoted myself to the study of psychology, human development and helping others. I believe that everyone needs help and support at some point in their lifetime. I hope that I am able to be the support that you need in efforts to help you live your best life.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session we will discuss the issues that currently caused you to seek out help. We will also discuss your goals for treatment. I then will ask you questions about your background in efforts to understand your history and who you are as a person.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
As a seasoned therapist, I am frequently told that "I get it". In fact my mantra for practice has become "You don't get it until you get it." I have found that my unique experiences and challenges have only served to make me a better overall therapist.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I have the most overall experience working with clients of all ages who have experienced depression, anxiety or trauma. My dual licensure has helped me to specialize in all things related to children. My experience as a School Psychologist has given me the opportunity to understand and treat cognitive and learning disabilities. I am also certified as an autism specialist. However, my greatest education has come from raising my now adults son with autism.
