New to Grow
My current focus is working with adults on a variety of concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and general life stressors that have become overwhelming. I assist with processing events, healing from emotional pain, and learning effective coping skills. I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the State University of NY at Oneonta and then a Master's Degree from Sage Graduate Schools.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
The first session will be mostly gathering background information and motivational interviewing to determine current symptoms and areas the client would like to work on. I will provide psychoeducation about therapy and share best-practice methods to treating the current concerns. After a couple of sessions goals will be determined collaboratively, along with specific action steps to completing those goals.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I offer a warm, supportive space to help you heal, find balance, and reconnect with yourself. Together, we’ll explore how trauma, stress, and nourishment affect your mind and body, and create gentle, lasting change. You deserve to feel grounded, whole, and at peace. I’m here to help you get there.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
Hi, I’m Lisa Miller, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 10 years of experience supporting individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. My work is rooted in evidence-based approaches, including CBT, EMDR, and mindfulness, among others, but always shaped by the individual needs and values of each client I work with. As the founder of Thrive and Nourish Counseling Center, I created this practice with a clear vision: to offer a compassionate, inclusive, and trauma-informed space where people feel empowered to heal, grow, and thrive. I believe healing happens in safe, affirming spaces where you can show up as your full self, without judgment. My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and grounded in the belief that we all have the capacity to grow, even in the face of overwhelming experiences. Whether you're feeling stuck in cycles of worry, weighed down by depression, or trying to make sense of past trauma, I’m here to walk alongside you. Together, we’ll work to build emotional resilience, reconnect with your inner strengths, and move toward a life that feels more aligned and manageable. You don’t have to go through this alone. Therapy can be the first step toward relief, clarity, and meaningful change. If you’re ready to begin, I’m here to help.
