Hi, I’m Tanya Anderson, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with experience supporting clients in schools, private practice, and community settings. Most recently, my work has focused on helping students and families navigate challenges within the school environment. My approach is holistic, person-centered, and grounded in trauma-informed care.

Empowering Girls and Women Through Therapy, Holistic Wellness and Personal Growth!

I honor the connection between mind, body, and spirit while making space for your unique experiences, strengths, and goals. Together, we’ll prioritize emotional safety, trust, and choice, moving at a pace that feels right for you.

First session

Our first session is a chance to get to know each other and begin building trust. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, what’s been challenging, and what you hope might change. I’ll explain my approach, answer your questions, and make room for any concerns about starting therapy. You don’t need to prepare the “right” words or share everything at once we’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, supported, and excited to work toward your therapeutic goals.

Strengths

I bring warmth, authenticity, and a nonjudgmental presence to every session. My strength is creating space for you to feel heard and accepted while we explore what’s challenging you. My holistic, person-centered, and trauma-informed approach considers your mind, body, go spirit while honoring your experiences, choices, and pace. I show up as a “perfectly imperfect” human, making room for you to do the same. Together, we’ll build on your strengths and work toward meaningful changes that reflect what matters most to you.

Ideal clients

My ideal client is someone seeking a space to feel heard, understood, and supported. You may be navigating stress, past trauma, relationship challenges, or a life transition or simply feeling disconnected from yourself. You don’t need to have clear goals or know where to start. We can explore that together. I work best with clients who are curious about themselves and open to exploring change, even if taking that first step feels uncertain. Together, we’ll build on your strengths, develop ways to navigate challenges, and move toward a life that feels more connected and meaningful to you.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you explore the connections between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Together, we’ll identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck and practice skills to approach challenges in new ways. We’ll focus on goals that matter to you and practical strategies you can use in everyday life.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I incorporate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills to help you navigate strong emotions, manage distress, and build healthier relationships. Together, we’ll practice mindfulness, explore ways to respond thoughtfully in difficult moments, and strengthen your ability to communicate your needs and set boundaries.

Trauma-Focused CBT

As a certified Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) therapist, I help children and adolescents process traumatic experiences and build skills to feel safer and more confident. We work at a supportive pace, exploring connections between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors while practicing ways to manage distress. When appropriate, I involve caregivers to strengthen support and communication beyond our sessions.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I incorporate mindfulness-based practices to help you become more aware of your thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations with curiosity and compassion. Together, we may explore grounding exercises, mindful breathing, and gentle pauses to help you feel more present and respond to challenges with greater intention. I tailor these practices to your comfort level and needs, helping you build practical skills to manage stress, navigate difficult emotions, and feel more connected to yourself.
