(he/they)
Hi, my name is Oliver O’Daniel (he/they), I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Indiana and have been working with clients since 2020. I have a passion for working with people who want to reduce harm from substance use, heal from trauma, abuse, and/or addiction, or navigate life with OCD or ADHD. By finding meaningful skills and outlets to move forward in life. My goal is to help a person understand what nourishes their mind, body and soul and learn to find joy again through building a life that has resources for yourself, your household, and your community.
During your first session, I will introduce myself, my credentials, and we will discuss the paperwork you completed. Afterwards we will begin the intake process which includes questions about your past and present experiences. We will also have some time to explore what brings you joy, or used to bring you joy. During your second session, we will begin a treatment plan together.
I am told by many people that I am "easy to talk to" and able to help clients become comfortable to express themselves in ways that make sense to them. This includes allowing people to stim, pace/walk, or sit quietly, do art, or play video games while attending session if that helps you feel comfortable. We will practice coping skills in session, and you will (likely) get 'therapy homework' that matches your goals for therapy.
If you are struggling with addiction, past traumatic experiences, obsessions/compusions, ADHD hardships, or difficulty with emotion regulation then you will find a good space with me. If you are transgender, genderqueer, gender-questioning, or non-binary, you are welcome here.
