Hi, I'm Lisa and I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have extensive experience in helping clients manage and work through anxiety, depression, breakups/divorce, grief and loss, and a bunch of other things that life throws our way.

This means understanding, disputing, and filtering out that negative self-talk that often keeps us from moving forward in life.

I view counseling as a partnership between the therapist and the client, and my goal is always to support clients in strengthening their relationship with themselves.

First session

After spending a few minutes going through the informed consent and administrative stuff, I spend the first session with clients exploring what brings them to therapy, what they hope to accomplish, and how would they know if things were somehow better. We will always come back to these goals for therapy, because they may evolve along the way, but they will serve as a foundation for our work together.

Strengths

One of my strengths is helping clients find better ways to communicate with themselves. This means understanding, disputing, and filtering out that negative self-talk that often keeps us from moving forward in life.

Ideal clients

I work best with those clients who are looking to make a change. If you think about it like a journey, you don't have to know exactly where you want to go or how to get there, you just have to be willing to travel. If you are open to change, I can support you in figuring out all the other details. I work with clients to identify their strengths and resources, collaborate to set realistic goals and recognize progress, work to identify obstacles in their lives that are keeping them "stuck" or blocking them from experiencing the life they want, and provide a safe therapeutic space to focus on growth and healing.
