As a social worker for twenty years, I have seen both the incredible hardships that people face as well as human resilience and adaptability. I became a therapist because I believe that healing happens best when we feel seen, heard, and accepted—just as we are. In therapy sessions, I use humor, warmth, and genuine respect to create a safe and supportive space for that purpose.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Our first session will be relaxed and all about getting to know you. There's no pressure to dive deep right away—we’ll go at your pace. I’ll ask some open-ended questions to learn more about what brings you in, what you’d like to get out of therapy, and how I can best support you. You’re welcome to share as much or as little as feels comfortable. I see this first meeting as a conversation, not an interview, and it’s also a chance for you to get a feel for me and how I work. My goal is for you to leave the session feeling heard, respected, and a little more hopeful about the path ahead.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My approach is warm, collaborative, and rooted in a deep respect for your strengths and lived experience. I draw from a strengths-based perspective, helping you recognize and build on the resilience you already have—even if it doesn’t feel that way right now. I use humor to bring lightness when it's needed, and I integrate tools from motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and empowerment-based and feminist practices to support meaningful, lasting change.

Motivational Interviewing
Using motivational interviewing skills, I am able to build a collaborative relationship with clients where we can work together to identify their goals. I can then support them in making the positive changes they want to make.
Trauma Informed Care
Trauma can have a long-lasting and significant impact on how we view ourselves and our relationships. I create a safe and supportive space where clients can explore their needs and identify the inherent strengths that they possess to meet those needs.
Strength-Based
I work with clients to identify how their own resilience has served them in the past and create a plan to use their strengths more purposefully to achieve their desired outcomes.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
In a collaborative partnership with clients, we will identify the goals that they wish to achieve and develop an action plan to achieve them.
