New to Grow
i am Tracie Harris, LCSW, a licensed clinical social worker in Texas and the founder of Libra Mental Health & Wellness. My work centers on helping people find balance, healing, and resilience, especially individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, burnout, grief, and life transitions. My clinical approach blends evidence-based therapy (such as CBT), strengths-based practice, and mindfulness, with a strong focus on helping clients understand their thoughts, regulate emotions, and develop practical coping skills. You aim to create a safe, compassionate, and empowering space where clients feel heard and supported while working toward meaningful change. I am a clinician, entrepreneur, and builder who is working to create a balanced life and a practice that helps others do the same.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
During our first session, my goal is to create a comfortable and supportive space where you can begin sharing your story at your own pace. Starting therapy can feel like a big step, so we will focus on getting to know each other and building a foundation of trust. We will talk about what brought you to therapy, the challenges you may be experiencing, and what you hope to gain from the counseling process. I may ask questions about your current concerns, life stressors, past experiences, and any coping strategies you have used so far. This helps me gain a better understanding of your situation and how I can best support you. Together, we will also begin identifying your goals for therapy and discuss possible approaches that may help you move forward. My approach is collaborative, which means we work as a team to develop strategies and tools that fit your needs and personal strengths. You don’t need to have everything figured out before your first session. The first meeting is simply a place to start, ask questions, and begin exploring the path toward healing, growth, and greater balance in your life
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to create a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable being open about their experiences. I understand that reaching out for support can be difficult, and I work to ensure that each client feels heard, respected, and supported throughout the therapeutic process. I am also skilled at helping clients identify patterns in their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that may be contributing to stress, anxiety, or feeling stuck. By combining evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), strengths-based therapy, and mindfulness techniques, I help clients develop practical strategies they can use in their everyday lives. Another strength of my approach is focusing on empowerment and resilience. I believe that people already have many strengths within them, and part of therapy is helping clients rediscover those strengths and learn how to use them to navigate life’s challenges more confidently. My goal is not only to help clients process what they are going through but also to provide tools, insight, and support that lead to lasting change and emotional balance.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work best with individuals who may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, emotionally exhausted, or stuck in difficult life situations. Many of my clients are navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, grief, relationship difficulties, or major life transitions. I especially enjoy helping people who want to better understand their thoughts and emotions, build healthier coping strategies, and regain a sense of balance in their lives. My approach works well for clients who are open to self-reflection and interested in developing practical tools that support emotional growth, resilience, and long-term well-being.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Many people experience patterns of negative or automatic thoughts that can contribute to anxiety, depression, and feelings of being stuck. Through CBT, I work collaboratively with clients to identify these patterns and develop healthier ways of thinking and responding to challenging situations. In my practice, I often help clients learn how to recognize cognitive distortions, challenge unhelpful beliefs, and replace them with more balanced and realistic thoughts. I also incorporate practical exercises such as thought reframing, behavioral activation, and coping strategies that clients can use in their daily lives. My goal is to provide clients with tools that empower them to better manage stress, regulate emotions, and build long-term resilience.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
A strengths-based approach focuses on identifying and building upon the strengths, abilities, and resilience that each client already possesses. Rather than focusing solely on problems or deficits, I work with clients to recognize the skills and inner resources that have helped them navigate difficult situations in the past. In my practice, I help clients explore their personal strengths, values, and support systems so they can use these assets as a foundation for growth and healing. This approach can be especially helpful for individuals who may feel discouraged, overwhelmed, or uncertain about their abilities. By highlighting strengths and progress, clients often develop greater confidence, motivation, and a renewed sense of hope as they work toward their goals.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Mindfulness techniques help clients become more aware of their thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations in the present moment without judgment. Many people struggle with racing thoughts, stress, or emotional overwhelm, and mindfulness practices can help create space to respond to these experiences more calmly and intentionally. In sessions, I often incorporate mindfulness strategies such as grounding exercises, breathing techniques, and present-moment awareness to help clients reduce anxiety and improve emotional regulation. These techniques can also help clients develop greater self-compassion and awareness of their internal experiences. Over time, mindfulness can support clients in feeling more centered, focused, and better able to manage stress in their everyday lives.
