(he/him)
Hello, my name is Ryan Alan Suhr and I’m a licensed psychotherapist practicing as a professional counselor since 2005. With Graduate undergraduate training in philosophy, psychology, religion, linguistics, and anthropology. I try to help others find meaning and purpose in their personal experience of the human condition. I attempt to apply a conversational approach to matters that matter in service of improving relationships with self, other people, and the world.
On our first session we will work together to identify what you would like to be different about your life situation and what has been interfering with your progress towards that goal.
While I make no claims of being all things for all people, I will struggle with you to find a path out of your current situation towards your goals. My professional, educational and personal experiences have prepared me to extend compassion and support as you face the obstacles that have impeded your progress.
I work well with adults who are ready to make some changes in how they are approaching the challenges of life.

As Nietzche said, one who has a why in life can withstand any what. Having integrated my educational background in philosophy, psychology, religion and linguistics into my professional training, I seek to help others find purpose and meaning in their personal experience of the human condition.

From the onset, we felt genuinely heard. A real connection formed fast; no awkward warm-up or generic questioning. Ryan dove in thoughtfully, making the session feel productive and personal from the start. We covered a lot of ground for a first meeting and left with a real foundation to build from. When one direction wasn't landing, there was a smooth, confident shift. That attunement is hard to find. Most valuable: concrete, actionable advice. Real tools, real next steps. Highly recommend.
