Hi, I’m Nick. You might be here because you’re tired of pretending you’re fine when you’re really not. Maybe you overthink everything, shut down, get irritated with people you care about, or just feel like you’re carrying a lot and don’t totally know why. For some people, it goes a bit deeper than that. You might have grown up being seen as the “problem” in your family, or the one who got blamed or was maybe made to feel like too much. A lot of the people I work with are LGBTQIA+ or neurodivergent (not everyone, though!), or still figuring that out, and have spent a long time masking parts of themselves just to get through. That kind of experience can mess with your sense of self. You might second-guess your reactions and feel guilty, or not even be sure what you’re feeling half the time. Therapy with me is a place where you don’t have to have it all figured out. You don’t need a perfect explanation or a clear goal, we can just start with whatever feels most relevant.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and to begin understanding what’s bringing you in. You can expect a mix of conversation with some structure. I’ll ask questions about what’s been feeling difficult and your history, as well as what you hope might change. There’s no pressure to share everything at once, either. I know it can be a lot meeting with a clinician for the first time. We’ll also talk about what therapy might look like moving forward and make sure it feels like a good fit. My goal in the first session is to begin building a foundation of trust. Many people feel nervous at first, which is completely normal.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths is my curiosity and interest in truly understanding people. I tend to notice patterns of all kinds pretty easily, and I’m genuinely interested in how those patterns developed and why they persist. I value knowledge a lot and enjoy sharing information that I think might be helpful for clients. I’m consistently engaging with current research and developments in psychology, particularly in the areas of trauma and emotional processing. Recently, I’ve been especially interested in coherence therapy and the way it approaches lasting change by working directly with underlying emotional learnings. I plan to pursue formal training in this model as part of my continued professional growth. I really feel like this approach is what can TRULY address some persistent issues people may struggle to heal from or change. I strive to remain grounded and practical in sessions. My curiosity is always in service of helping you better understand yourself. I try to be curious in a way that is compassionate and not overly clinical. :)

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I often work with LGBTQ and neurodivergent adults (but again, don't worry if you fall outside those demographics) who are carrying trauma, depression, anxiety, identity stress, or painful family and relationship wounds. Many of my clients feel exhausted from masking, overthinking, people-pleasing, or trying to hold everything together while feeling disconnected from themselves. In our work together, we’ll make sense of the patterns that keep you feeling stuck and build tools that actually fit your life, as well as process what you’ve been through at a pace that feels manageable. Therapy with me is collaborative and grounded in curiosity rather than judgment. We’ll focus on helping you understand your needs, set boundaries, reconnect with your values, and develop more compassion for the parts of you that have been trying to protect you. My goal is to help you feel more grounded and self-trusting.

My treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I have 20+ hours of formal training in DBT. I use DBT skills to help clients build steadiness when emotions feel overwhelming. This includes working on mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal skills. I often integrate DBT tools in a practical way, helping clients apply them to real-life situations while also exploring the deeper patterns underneath.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

With ACT, we focus on changing your relationship with difficult thoughts and feelings rather than trying to eliminate them. I help clients develop psychological flexibility and take meaningful action even when things feel hard. This approach is especially helpful for anxiety and avoidance.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT helps identify patterns between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I use CBT to support clients in noticing unhelpful thinking habits and experimenting with new responses.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

I have experience exploring the different “parts” of a client with them with curiosity rather than judgment. Many of the behaviors or reactions that feel confusing developed as protective strategies. I help clients slow down and build a compassionate relationship with these parts, so they feel less reactive.

Attachment-based

Attachment-focused therapy looks at how early relational experiences shape the way we connect with ourselves and others. I help clients notice patterns that show up in relationships like distancing or people-pleasing. Through a consistent and respectful therapeutic relationship, we work toward building a stronger sense of security and self-trust.
