As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), I'm deeply committed to helping you break down the barriers that trouble you, and live a brighter and more fulfilling life. Together, we can identify what's not working and get you back to balance. My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.
In our first session together, you can expect to be met with empathy, warmth, and a non-judgmental presence. I understand that reaching out for support can be a vulnerable and sometimes intimidating step—my priority is to create a space where you feel safe, heard, and respected from the moment we begin. We’ll take time to get to know each other at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I’ll invite you to share what brings you in, what’s been on your mind or heart, and what you’re hoping to get out of therapy. You don’t need to have all the answers—just showing up is enough. I’ll also share a bit about how I work, answer any questions you have, and collaborate with you on what future sessions might look like. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, identity questions, relationship challenges, or just feeling overwhelmed, this is your space—and I’m here to walk alongside you with compassion and curiosity.
I work wonderfully with all clients - I feel it is an honor to be the person that gets to partner with someone on their journey. I work with so many different populations and feel connected to so many different people along the way.
As a clinical therapist, my dream clients are individuals who are navigating the complexities of depression, anxiety, or bipolar disorder, and who are seeking a deeper understanding of themselves and their emotional world. These clients may feel overwhelmed, misunderstood, or exhausted by the demands of daily life and are looking for a safe, supportive space to process, heal, and grow. I’m especially passionate about working with LGBTQ+ individuals—clients who are exploring identity, authenticity, and belonging, or working through challenges related to acceptance, self-worth, or trauma. Whether they are just beginning to question, are in transition, or are established in their identity, I aim to meet them with unconditional positive regard and affirming care. My dream clients are not defined by how much they “have it together,” but by their willingness to show up—whether that’s in vulnerability, curiosity, or readiness for change. They are individuals who may not yet have all the tools they need but are open to discovering them. I value clients who are willing to engage in honest dialogue, reflect on patterns, and collaborate in building lives that feel more balanced, empowered, and authentic. Together, we work on grounding in the present, learning to navigate emotional waves, rebuilding trust in oneself, and cultivating coping strategies that feel sustainable and meaningful. Whether you’re struggling with mood instability, identity exploration, or the internalized voices of shame or fear, I’m here to walk alongside you—compassionately and without judgment.

Joel was a very good listener and made me feel very comfortable talking to him right from the start. I was able to open up and get a lot off chest. I am looking forward to meeting with him next week.
