About me

*Now Accepting new clients, evening availability!* Hello, I’m Tameka, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who graduated from Westfield State University in 2022. For anyone beginning or continuing therapy, the search for a new therapist can be daunting. I aim to provide a warm, authentic, and welcoming space for all to feel comfortable engaging in the therapeutic process. I believe in collaboration, as it is my role to walk alongside you in your journey. I have experience in crisis and crisis stabilization so I am able to remain calm and supportive even through the toughest of times.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first session, I will ask you questions about why you are seeking therapy, how long your concerns have been going on, and what you are looking for in terms of support. The first session will also give you an opportunity to ask me questions about the process and my experience to determine if you feel like I am the right fit for your needs. Together, we will then work on making a treatment plan that is tailored to you and will guide our work together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My approach is eclectic and focuses on each individual. Motivational interviewing, psychoeducation, and CBT are often used during sessions. While I do not offer a full DBT protocol, I may pull in aspects to help with distress tolerance. When appropriate, I am open to humor and laughter during our sessions. Because of my backgrounds and eclectic approach, I can be flexible and adapt during our sessions together.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I currently support adults through life transitions, anxiety, and relational issues. Collaboratively we can identify what optimal functioning looks like and how we can move towards that goal during our work together. My approach is eclectic and will be customized to meet each individual’s needs. I strive to create a space where clients feel safe, understood, and genuinely supported as they work through their goals.
